Tracking a Corvette on the 4th of July seems appropriate!
It was a lotta fun for my 1st time on the track! The car felt less intimidating that I thought it would. Not sure if I will track the car regularly tho, I’ll know more after I inspect everything on suspension and tires tomorrow....although if I do, it will get an oil cooler; 295F oil in not good...

I have a ton of track days/visits under my belt.
Here are some free r andom gems of info:
There are no trophies, so drive to your ability and have fun, but always bring the car home, no one will care that you went 10/10ths at Jim Bobs Track Days.
You are going to be surrounded by people who think they can drive better than they can, always have a defensive mindset on the track. Protect yourself and your vehicle. I would guess at minimum 50% of the people on track with you don’t even know the limits of their vehicle.
Always do a cool down lap. Everyone wants every second of their X minute session, but when the flag for last lap comes out, take care of your vehicle. Coasting at 40-50 mph on track for a lap will do wonders compared to just sitting and parking at 80 degrees in the paddock.
Anything that was weird or you were afraid to ask a question drop a comment, happy to answer.

The DeWitts aluminum radiator and external oil cooler seems to be the track day go to for these. Hood vents also apparently help, along with a tune to kick the fans on earlier.

Yup...Even DRM makes a couple of good heat exchangers (combined radiator and EOC as well as separate). Most important thing is having an oil thermostat since the Z is still a road car.

Heh, I suck, though. It’s been so long since I’ve autocrossed that I’d be a horrible spin monster. I really need to get back into driving events, but this stupid pandemic got in the way.

We have been having autox events for the past month or so. Have they not started having events in your part of the woods yet? (Texas I assume?)

Our local autocross-only group started (albeit distanced, with no passengers allowed), and then they stopped because Texas is the world’s stupidest petri dish for COVID-19. I didn’t feel comfortable going, though, TBH.
There have been some track days (including some with instructors), too, but I don’t know if those are still happening at this point. Our PCA chapter has erred on the “hell naw” side for nearly all of this except a handful of extremely limited-attendance tech sessions, IIRC, too, and given the situation and number of older active members, that’s the right call.
